A Tittle Tale

Tittle the Brick is a little known old Geordie phrase which resonates with me.
Born and bred in Jesmond Newcastle I spent a lot of time with my Nana in my younger years.
We were always having a joke and if she didn't get the punchline would chase me with her feather duster laughing and shouting "hadaway and tittle the brick" which would totally crease me up. So the phrase stuck with me and when I had children I too would play chase giggling after them #hadawayandtittlethebrick.
So when I decided to open a website to sell my handcrafted jewellery the name seemed appropriate not only for the personal meaning but also because a 'tittle' means a small addition, which jewellery usually is, a keepsake and something special to cherish.
When I started making with silver I would practice by breaking up old items and rework them, including cutting up some Pandora charms to solder onto rings and I feel it so important to reuse and recycle. To this end I only purchase recycled silver, mostly sterling 925 and some fine silver 999. I also use recycled gold brass and copper as embellishments which adds a touch of luxury to a piece whilst keeping the cost down.
The gemstones I purchase are sustainably sourced in the UK and I also love to use synthetic gems. Tittle packaging is also eco friendly bought in the UK.
I hope you find this tittle insight into Tittle's background of interest and please do get in touch with any queries. Always open and happy to help
